Hello -
I need to submit Texas TDMV forms so that when I die, ownership of my BOAT TRAILER passes to my daughter.
I used Form VTR-121 and Form 130-U to accomplish this for my CAR.
But I'm confused how to pass ownership of my BOAT TRAILER to my daughter upon my death.
I also see Form VTR-122 as well as Form VTR-121 and Form 130-U.
PLEASE HELP… THANKS

Why are you asking us? We aren't the state of Texas. Talk to your attorney to draw up a will to distribute your estate and register it, which accomplishes all you need.

I'll tell you this - A car and trailer are titled the same. Better do something for the boat on the trailer and if it has an outboard, it needs paperwork as well. Boat and outboard are titled through TPWD

On the pink put your name (or) her name so either one of you can sign for the trailer. I did that with mine so if anything happens to me and the wife at the same time she will be able to have the boat and trailer.

Yup. You list your name and you daughter's name with the word "OR" between them as owners. That way either yours or your daughters signature make it good to go. Do not confuse that with "AND" which would require both signatures!

Each state is different—for example, Ohio is one of the states that treats “or” as “and”. So, in essence, “or” has no real meaning on Ohio vehicles and trailer titles even though it’s allowed to be used. States vary in this—some honor “or” as it’s intended to be used, some don’t.

What that means in Ohio is both people listed as “or” on the title/registration must be present to renew plates, etc. That’s a hassle.

For $6, Ohio will update a title and add a “Transfer on Death” (TOD) line stating who the car or trailer goes to if the primary person listed dies. This is what we’ve done to our boats and cars. This way it automatically goes to the person listed as the TOD and it bypasses probate.

Call your local DMV and ask them what your options are to have the trailer automatically go to your daughter upon your death—- what works in other states may or may not work in Texas.
