1)If you are sure that the engine is not getting hot then the following might be the problem:

Bad temp sender
Bad wiring(bad ground)
Bad buzzer

1.5)No, the fish finder will not effect it...Unless someone wiried the hot lead from the ignition switch to power the depth finder.

2)It's a matter of degree that would make this a problem or not.

How would I go about getting a new buzzer/taking it out
what would taking the buzzer out affect?

The buzzer is in your control box. Removing it would be like disconnecting your car temperature gauge....Exceptionally bad idea. Possibly the worse idea I have ever heard....No, I take that back. There was one back in 1969 that was even worse

Does the sixty have a water pressure sensor that can trigger the buzzer as well? If so, he could adjust it to be a little less sensitive without disabling it..

I know mine was a little picky at idle (confirmed good cooling) and small adjustment made it better.

Is it even worth attempting to fix it?? I can only assume a marina would cost me over $1000 because they can, only to realize that the motor isnt worth more then a few hundred dollars on its own anyways?

Is it easy for a marine mechanic to "diagnose" the problem, or would they just pull and replace as they go until they find the problem(which is what I'm worried about)

The engine is not worth repairing due to age.......No matter what you fix today something else will break tomorrow and the only water pump part that is available is the impeller so you can't maintain the cooling system.
