Thanks to DonS and all of our other excellent technical resources on this site. A couple of weeks back DonS posted a great diagnostic for a no-start condition. It was suggested that it be put in the FAQ although I don't know if it made it there. Anyway, I finally got to my boat this weekend and had to use that diagnostic FAQ from memory. I started my diagnostics at the slave solenoid and sure enough no current was getting thru. But what's the first thing Don will tell you? Did you check the battery cables to make sure they are tight, clean, and corrosion free? Well, no Don...they've been in for 2 years and look great.

Funny thing, when I reached down to check the battery cables (I have two banks of group 24's) the main ground for bank two lifted right off the post
(I have the traditional lead ended battery connections that go around the post). TRied to tighen it up and ended up breaking the cable end, so now I'm in the market for a new main ground cable.

BTW...anyone care to guess why my zincs were eaten up in 4 months? My diver just changed them all...again...but port propshaft is eating up in about a month...can you say stray current from the lose battery ground? I measured .1 VDC in the water behind the boat - this was with nothing on inside the boat except the charger and batteries. I suspect it would be much higher when cranking the boat. Anyway, off to find new battery cables this week.
