Cleaned the VST filter and replaced the medium pressure filter as you suggested and the boats running fine again. That really saved my butt-the dealer and the Yamaha service reps didn't have a clue. They wanted the dealer to hook the laptop up to it and re-create the problem on the water-and he's almost an hours drive from the water! IF you're ever out this way (Napa Valley-SF Bay Area) let me know-I owe you a salmon fishing trip or something!

John, my problem started out just like your's, if I got a hard jolt coming down off a swell the motor would have a very, very slight hesitation. The problem got worse to the point that it would not rev over about 3000 rpms.

Rodbolt, I'm glad you had me prepared. The intermediate filter ran $104, and they put on a new external 10 micron fuel/water seperator that was $115. The good news is I saved the $170 they were going to charge me for the sea trial that would have shown them nothing :D .

Navy and Hogan High, hmmm, is there a Mare Island connection there? My father-in-law worked there for many years, and I grew up on the Napa River waters between Napa & Vallejo.
