just wanted to shout a big thanks out to the members here. since i joined a while back i had a cd ignition issue. and was helped throught that ordeal and got motor running. i had just restored my interior to the alum hull.
then since i have gotten some answers that motivated me to
1. rehook kill and get new lanyard since it was unhooked by PO.
2. relace my thermoswitch and buzzer (thanks JJ) and installed a red warning light to it as well.
3. have gotton info from steelspike on props and in first attempt gained 4-5mph on top end. still tuning there.
4. in the final stages of getting a 5.5 evinrude that was junked by PO and been sitting in shed for 5-6 years running and cleaned up painted. replaced head gaskets and drilled out broken off hean bolt and motor mount bolt, ect...
5. learned that i had high idle by pulling out throttle lever (pull neutral) after 8 years.:facepalm: just thought i didnt have high idle warm up.
those are some things that needed to be done and i prob would have not done without this site. i figured why not tackle em. the q's i had were mostly is this ok. but it was nice to have the YES thats fine answers so i knew i wouldnt mess up more electrionics after the cdi short i had. so thanks eveyone that has replied to my Q's. my 2012 boating has been better than the past 3-4 and my problems last few times out were NIL! got my boat de bugged and safe for the family to enjoy now as well.
