Flahthead, Yeah I was over at Nockamixion on Sat. hunting, Missed 2 Birds (was ready to throw the browning into the Lake) tagged a bunny. May go over to the lake for Muzzleloader season. Where did you see the deer at Flaht the 563 side of the lake or the other side. the West end or the East end. I would not be suprised with your sighting there was alot of pressure on sat for small game.

our rifle season opens saturday. should be a good season. they extended it an extra week and the rut is just now starting. have already seen three good quality bucks. hopefully with the bucks preoccupied with the does, i might get close enuff to stick one with an arrow.<br /><br />congrats on the deer.

He was up at the 313 end of the lake on the 563 side of the lake. About 1/4 mile below where the Tohickon feeds the lake. Not far from where cappies is.<br /><br />LOL about the bird huntin, you aint gonna like this but I saw four ringnecks walking together right along the edge of the lake at at the tohickon launch cove Also two birds right along 563 on the way home. No doupt they were the game commsion stocked birds.<br /><br /> Seems as though every year after huntin season starts I start to see loads of game right at the edge of the lake. Maybe you guys would do good to work the very edge next time out. Better yet maybe I'll take the gun for a boat ride next time I go fishin

gaugeguy, I'm about an hour south of potsdam in the town of greig. I haven't seen a deer in the woods in the last four times i've been out.when I get home they are on my lawn. But ma says I can't shoot the pets.

Nice buck guageguy.<br /><br />I finally got one on Friday, 11/21. A 170-lb 9-pointer. Pretty good buck, rough scored at around 125 or so. Not a monster, but i'm happy. <br /><br />Good luck, and Congrats to all you other guys.

congrats all--no buck this season for me--am home safe-five days at the shak, stinking real bad now--and real glad to be back with lovely bride and kids-<br />Had the most hellaschious brewhaa happen behind my stand-a big black lookin buck, great hat on that one from what I saw, working on driving off smaller buck that was with a doe. All kindsa blowing, snorting, grunting--slamming and banging. Deal happened real fast-pulled trigger on the big boy--deer all went nuts--had one chance again at the black one--<br />Despite two hours or so no trace of body or blood--I ruined the corner of the 40 looking for that buck--fresh snow overnight and no tracks of any deer movement from that time on till I left today. Sure regret situations like that 'cause I will never know if indeed that buck was hit-derned shame--grief over not knowing and the what ifs had I refrained from snap shooting--give the situation time to settle out.<br /><br />My bro saw a nice buck--it busted him--and our bud John walked the wrong way onto a neighbors fire road--wandered for couple of hours--another guy gave John a ride back to shak--<br />Me and the bro gonna get John a compass for Christmas--<br /><br />.............Happy Thanksgiving ALL............
