The car in "The Birds"

Happened to catch Alfred Hitchcock`s "The Birds" on tv the other nite(for the umpteenth time), but have never been able to figure out what kind of car the female star drove.
Import job, convertible, silver color--u all remember it, right?
Any of u car buffs out there can help me out? This has been bugging me for years.
