Anyone else following The Walking Dead on AMC? Sunday nights @ 10:00?

I have never seen a TV show with theatrical makeup and realism like that. So far, it's been pretty good. The premier was amazing and the rest have been better than I though they'd be.

My adult son told me about the show. I watched episode 4 this past week and will DVR tonight's episode.

I like the theme of "end of the world" but I could do without the walking dead people.

I like it but waking up in the hospital and not knowing what's going on has been done before.

Right. That was in 28 Days Later. But, I think it was their way of not having to explain how this happened. They can get to that in next season.

The shop has already been renewed for 13 more episodes (I read online somewhere).

Re: The Walking Dead

For the AMC channel I think it is good.... the writing lacks a bit and it moves slow at times.

I have experience in the movie industry (special effects) and the make-up is very good....... I do recognize allot of filler scenes to extend the time........

It lacks the feel good moments and it does contain the typical family turmoil type situations. I guess maybe it is just me but, a few more spin-off stories such as various survivor groups would add to the show.

What bugged me about that was how did this guy survive while he was in bed, unconscious for long enough for those flowers to wilt? Aside from that, it's one of my favorite new shows.

All in all, I'm always up for more zombies.

Did you notice that they never used the "Z" word?

Pretty good so far. I like "fast" zombies-makes it more exciting. Other favorite was the remake of "Dawn of the Dead" [with Ving Rhames] . As far as holes in the plot go---hey, it's a zombie movie.

Seems to be ok, the fast zombie are a bit troubling. I noticed the filler too and I dont even watch movies.

Dont like its timing as the new Top Gear show is on at the same time but I DVR Top Gear and blast through the commercials so its not all bad.

Re: The Walking Dead

I think it is a great show. Like all stories there are holes here and there. There is almost always someone standing guard at least in daylight. After all it is a dead reanimating story.

I wish there were going to be more than 6 episodes in season one. Thats a bummer. I like good sci-fi, always have. I've seen all of the living dead since the original Night Of The Living Dead and most have been good, a couple have been worse than B grade.

Enjoy the ride, the basic premise is good IMO.
