I'm having trouble finding a Vernatherm thermostat for my 1977 115HP Johnson. When I look up this part in the online manuals (Sierra and US boat)I keep finding a thermostat # 403 which looks more like a car thermostat - the Vernatherm just a piece of plastic on a spring. Does anyone have or can point me to the right OEM's or a good source. My local marine house is scratching their head on this one.

Jamie White
whitejamie99@hotmail.com

Try to search for poppet valve. I think that's what OMC calls them. They are beside each thermostat.

Thanks for the reply. I have the poppet valve - that one was easy - but no joy on finding the vernatherm. Who do you use in SA for parts?

Go Spurs

Go see Richard at Colburn Marine. Tell him the fire chief sent you.

Walker:

Thanks for the heads up. Richard was great and solved my water pump problem. He is working on the thermostat - class guy and very helpful.

Jamie
