Over cooked steak and painting and I never over cook a steak.

Add an extra level of hate, it's my ceiling. Got three rooms to do.

I let my wife do the painting. The flip side of it is that I have re-insulated and resided the house mostly unassisted.

use a halogen shop lamp to look for dry spots while you are rolling.

also suggest using a drop cloth to cover the floor and everything you dont want splatter on.

should be able to knock out the ceiling in about 30 minutes

Yeah Scott I've done lots just hate it. Floor will hide any small splatters. Good news is one room the kilz matches 99%. I had mixed with mud with kilz when I painted due to my shitty mud skills but the straight kilz matches almost perfectly so just touching up in her sunroom.

The livingroom i used eggshell after scraping popcorn so shows all defects. Eggshell is what I had at the time. Might leave it.

Kitchen had old light fixture holes needing to be patched as well as the eggshell.

Still hate painting no matter how easy.

im too poor to hire painters.... LOL. MIL had a painter at her house for a week painting all the rooms and trim. I think it cost her $4k.

Hence why I am doing it. I still hate it when people pay me to do it but it just intensifies when I have to do my own.

I went got more wine and have pork ribs thawing with the wife out of town. I will survive.

Mrs. Dingbat is the painter and wall paper person.
Best that I vacate the premises if either is taking place.

Easiest way to get out of painting is to do a bad job, Ms AD has tried this to only find years later she does pretty good when she want's to

Oh how I hate popcorn ceilings, then again I hate sheetrock too. I have zero sheetrock on my lower level.

Brilliant, painting while she is out of town will certainly make things go more pain free.

I hate painting too and I'm bad at it, I don't enjoy any kind of painting always messy. I usually hire a painter his rate is $17 pesos the square meter, even for our standards that is pretty cheap I will never paint again with this guy available.

I hate painting too which is why I usually hire people to do it now.

My friend and I just built a balcony at my lake Tahoe house. It was harder to paint that walls in a house because of all the nooks and crannies. At least I did some of it on the ground before it went up and painted it all before the decking went in.

BTW...that's a 8x14 by 16' beam...that was fun!

I'm not a fan of painting . . . The Admiral does most of the painting, much of which is because she looking for something to do . . . I get to do the more 'skilled' aspects of the job, like trim work.
