I'll be in the business of selling my 1980 Rinkerbuilt in a year or two. And after that, my budget for the next boat will be between $3000 - $3500. So, I started looking as if I had the money right now and keep settling on this runabout:

I've not heard much about MAXUMs here, nor have I looked. What's your thought's on Maxums, and the boat I posted?

Thanks!

I used to sell 'em. They're an entry level boat in the Bayliner league, but they didn't build as many. I actually thought they were constructed a little better than their Bayliner contemporary's. The deal on the boat was a limited amount of options to keep the build consistent and make the price fit - ultimately, I don't think it worked out that way.

I don't like the bowriders in most of the Maxums, but otherwise (besides the dopy red interior) they ran pretty nice. That one looks worth checking out.

Century Arabian ... I thought they were mostly direct drive, but the ad says Mercruiser. Pretty boats when they're all put together and running right. If you're up for a project, that would be a worthy one ... but if it's condition is as bad or worse than it looks, I'd work the price down.
