Thinking of purchasing 1982 Chris Craft 23 Center Console...Advice?

There is a 1982 23' Chris Craft center console with a 350ci Merc V8 under the console and an alpha one outdrive. The guy says it is a scorpion model, I have only seen Sea Hawks as a cc. The entire deck was lifted, all wood replaced with composite, clean deck, new gelcoat outside. Boat looks new. Has been sitting for a year and the engine wont run unless you pour gas down the carb....prob old gas or clogged carb.
Does anyone have any experience with these boats?
Anyone know what I should watch out for or things to pay special attention to? ANy reason not to buy?
How thirsty would a 23 with a 260ish v8 be at cruising speed?

a picture would help, to decide if it is a scorpion. check transom for rot.

I see you also have one of those rare boats.I have one I am redoing and finding information on them is very hard.Do you have any pictures of the transom area I am trying to figure out if there was a seat there?
