When I was a kid, we were freaked out over global cooling. The new ice age. OK I give which one is it? We have cleaned up our act no doubt. I am not buying for one minute that we are dirtier than before except maybe air travel.

BTW, the global warming experts seem to be really attached to their Gulfstream-3's,4's,5's and Lears. No catalytic converters on those. My carbon footprint is a size 12 EEE times 2..

Global warming is real, it's what happens in solar systems. The earth's core is molten, the sun is hot and gets hotter the older it gets. Glaciers have been retreating for thousands of years. We don't cause it and we can't change it. We will all die eventually.

Your friends have a real problem on their hands. Their daughter is growing up afraid and weak. They have two choices: 1) Figure out how to help her become more rational instead of emotional or 2) Start saving money now because they'll be sending her checks for the rest of her life while she protest camps, tie-dyed in treetops, eating roasted red-pepper hummous with a guy who just legally changed his name to "Trout Fishing in America"...

The NEA is the problem. Public schools don't teach science any more. The teachers, who graduated from a leftist college(teachers college; which is proven to graduate teachers that can't even enter a normal college), can't teach. No math, english, science. They just teach the socialism they were taught.

Coors, you have hit the nail on the head. The NEA is the worst thing for puplic education since the Federal Government began to control it.

They control the agenda and it is not good. One more area that the Left has taken control to dumb down the population.

The mystery is why they have been able to convince so many people, like Haut, that their way is the right way. It just goes back to my contention that Liberals will not connect the dots.

There was an article in the Local Washington paper today about teachers (few that they may be) are protesting their membership in the local chapters of the NEA due to their Liberal bent and contributions to liberal causes. This should not be allow to stand, but it does.

Why I thought pre-emptive strikes were a bad thing to libs, am I wrong? I thought we had to wait for a 9-11 before we could do anything by lib logic. Ya know "Let's open a dialouge with them" until it's to late, then blame President Bush.

And yes mother earth takes care of herself, sometimes warmer, sometimes cooler. I won't loose any sleep because of it.
