I'm at work and really bored!<br /><br />Lets start an arguement. What takes more skill, muskie/northern fishing or bass fishing?

Everyone knows that bass fishing takes more skill.<br /><br />You have to know what and where to cast to get 'em and with muskies, you just throw and hope for the best, no skill involved.

bass are easy northerns are simple muskys are really a pain and you can throw a lure all day and come up empty but the guys with the skill seem to chath them so i'm going with the muskys

I could not say which is tougher, muskie or bass, because I am strictly a salt water angler.<br /><br />I think this subject needs some saltwater reference too.<br /><br />Maybe we should do 2 catagory's:<br /><br />1. Muskie / Bass (Freshwater)<br /><br />2. Abacore / Striped Bass (Saltwater)<br /><br />As for me, Albacore would take more skill, but both fish are very allusive.<br /><br />Just a thought.

My dog has caught a Bass, but never a muskie. And it is a hunting dog. How tough can it be to catch a bass????

Bass fishin takes a lot of skill, I say we have a pick up tourney at the get together in the fall. 20 bucks a boat and extra 5 bucks for lunker. Pointer sorry to say but your basset hound can not be your partner

I feel it is only appropriate that Hanna, the golden retriever be allowed to fish as long as she uses a pole. Besides if I don't take her in the boat she will eat my truck!!

Gotta go with the lunge. Reason being the figure 8. The musky being the lurker and stalker he is, and pure evil too, ya never know if he's around your bait. The endo cast figure 8 will cause some lunges to become pissed and blast the bait. This leads me to believe that the lunge is a sophisticated murderous type that stalks its intended victim. Pure evil hatred in its eyes..**** them!!<br /><br />Bass, imo, simply strike due to reflex--less they are guarding a bed.
