OK guys, i was taking the tires off a horse trailer i have, i notice the bearings were a little loose. It was time to inspect and repack them while i was getting new tires put on. Upon inspection and cleaning the bearing and the hubs i noticed some of the race and bearings were pitted and blackened... So i get all new bearings for all 4 wheels, Im driving the races out with a hammer and punch, on one hub, i drove out the inner race flipped the drum and started to drive out the outer and in 2 hits the race shattered.... The race was actually cracked, it looks over heated as well.. here are some pics..
I was very fortunate for the 10+ times we moved animals with this trailer not to have an issue.. The PO said " I just service the bearings last month" that was when we bought it the beginning of last year..
This is a horse trailer not a boat trailer so i hope this is allowed if not i will remove.. Just sharing my findings that are trailer related... Josh
