1972 55 Horse Chrysler 555HF, I have been reading as much as I can on this wondeerful site and I have learned alot but I still have questions.
Today I changed the fuel pump it was deformed and stretched out so I know it was neededand it does run better but not right yet still shakes and wants to stall and sometimes does.
It got late while doing the pump and checking it and then I saw it because it was dark I noticed the forth of july going on under the flywheel I can only see well on one side but it looked to me like spark is jumping from the outside of the magnets to the flywheel or the plate and everytime this happens the motor will shake, so I would like to know if I am seeing the magnetor working when the air gap comes around (generating elec) or am I seeing something that should not be happening I believe its the later and it is my problem if so what is the remedy, please help the weekend is comming

You shouldn't see any spark. It might be a bad plug wire arching like you see on old plug wires in a car.J

I was gonna say the coils may be cracked but the leak could be anywhere.
