I just love working at Home Depot. Well...not always..but most of the time.
We get no benefits, working part time, but the perks are there.
I got the laser level for $5.00
Scroll Saw...$20.00
Compound Mitre Saw...$20.00
Just thought I would show off my newest additions to my collection of tools.

I have no idea what I am going to do with the laser level...but for the money...it was worth it.

Anyone ever use a scroll saw? If you did...what kind of things did you make?
I got lots of wood around here that is already sliced and cut to various sizes...lots of cherry, maple, fir, alder and a few others too.

B.C.

Scroll saws are great for making signs, jigsaw puzzles and intricate appliques.

Here's an idea for the laser level...Put it back in the box, and grab a pen. As soon as ya get back with that pen I'll give ya my shipping address!

I scroll some medium wildlife crafts once in a while. I enjoy it but just don't seem to get a whole lot of time to do it.

Hang'n In,
No pole with it. It came back as a return...missing the cover for the batteries. It was sitting on a shelf, priced for $5.00, for about 2 months.
They were going to throw it away and write it off, but I told them I would buy it.

That is where I get all my tools from now....all the returns.
Tomorrow, I have a 10.5amp Dewalt Recipicatin Saw, I am buying...for $65.00. Regular price...$130.00.
Nobody should be without a Recipicating Saw!

I think I am going to stay working there until my garage is full of tools...then decide if I want to continue working there. hehehe.

B.C.

Re: Three new toys...nice!

KRS...when you go into any Home Depot...go to the Tool Corral area and ask anyone there if they have any returned items for sale.
Most likely that person will lead you to the back of the Tool area and there should be at least some returns.
And if you buy any returned item, or any item that has come back from repair(because someone returned it because it broke, or whatever the reason), you still get the full warranty for it.
Every major store like Home Depot has a "returned area". They usually like to put the items somewhere where they cannot be seen(at the rear of the specific department), so they can sell regular priced items instead.
Check it out KRS...you will be surprised at what you can find.

B.C.

Re: Three new toys...nice!

Great stuff. I've gone the "Returned Goods" route a few times my self. Bought returned Honda self-propelled lawn mower for less than 1/2 price. Looked as if it had never been used, included full paper work and full factory warrantee. Same with a 6.5 HP rear tine tiller. Although the tiller had a cable bracket broken off (defective weld). About 3 min. with a Lincon 225, and a bit of touch up paint later and she looked new, still had the factory paint on the tines. Great way to go if they have what ya need when ya need it. :)

Re: Three new toys...nice!

scroll saw, I've used my dads once, but it was very handy.

I was making a face plate to mount a stereo in a golfcart for my boss, used a piece of lexan, but needed to cut a square out of the middle. Not too easy to do on lexan with a jigsaw, the scroll saw made it work out great, was able to take my time and get it just right.
