I have a 1985 Mercury O.B. The controls on it are Quicksilver single control mounted on the console. The problem with it is the throttle only button does not work all the time. It should just push in when in neutral and I should be able to move the control handle forward to have faster RPM when cold starting. Once started and warmed up and the contol handle is put back into neutral the button should come back out. When I take the button out there is a shaft that the button must push in on but other than that I don't see how the thing operates or what to do to fix it. Please Reply ASAP

Re: Throttle control Button stuck

If this is a Quicksilver 3000, hese are known to be a problem. I have had my entire remote control apart a couple of times. I'd see if you can push on the pin with a screw driver to get it to move. If it does, then spray some grease down there to try to lube. Is the pin you removed plastic with 4 barbed fingers on the end?

--Dale
