Hello all, first post so I would like to first say what a great forum with great info. Been reading and gathering some great intel here
Now on to my problem. The boat is a 1975 Sea Ray SRV180. The inboard is a GM straight 6 with a outboard Mercruiser. The boat engages forward and reverse fine, but right after it goes into gear there is alot of play in the throttle, I would say 3/4 of the travel does nothing and then the boat finally gets gas.The cable appears to be free and not bound up. It seems to me like something inside the throttle/shifter itself is bad? I did remove the chrome handle and checked the spline on the outside and it is fine. I just purchased the boat a couple of weeks ago and the previous owner said it was fine the last time he used the boat which was 2 seasons ago. The boat was stored indoors that whole time.
Thanks in advance for any help
