Throttle Linkage Question - 1985 75 HP

I've been reading up on the link and sync procedure. The way the throttle is currently set on this motor, the throttle pickup on the top carb is making contact with the cam at idle, cracking the throttle plates open a bit. Should the cam be pushed completely away to where it does not make contact at all with the pickup at idle?

Link rod question - Do the link rods going to the trigger and throttle cam need to be set to a certain length? I screwed both ends on each rod completely into the barrels. Is this correct?

Thanks.

Link rod length is a specification. So is initial linkage position and pickup points. Link n sync is different with different motors. You need your genoowine manufacturer's service manool to figger it out.

hope it helps
