Hi
Johnson 55 1980. 55EL80C.

When I push my throttle lever forward, the piece on the armature plate comes up against the stop long before the throttle is wide open. Is this what should happen?

I thought that the timing advanced as the throttle opened and the two worked together all the way to WOT.

I've done a link and synch as described in my manuals, and the engine runs O.K, but I'm trying to get an understanding of how my engine works and this doean't make sense to me. Surely WOT and fully advanced timing should happen at the same time? Please look at the pictures to see what I mean.

pictures

Thanks
Steve

Timing goes full advance before the throttle plates open all the way up.

Thanks DJ for the quick response.

I suppose I shouldn't question these things if there isn't a problem. Just trying to learn more.
Thanks again
Steve
