thrust rod (adjuster) 45 hp commercial 1985

the thrust rod on my motor is seized on one side. i've tried different lubes but to no avail. i'm afraid something will break if i force it too much. the motor was used in salt water before i got my hands on it. can anyone suggest something that may free this. i've used wd 40, rust check and a couple other products. http://s146.photobucket.com/albums/r277/tallcanadiansboat/?sc=1&addtype=local

Before you do damage to the transom brackets, I would suggest cutting the rod off flush and drilling them out. The thrust rods are still available from a J/Rude dealer. PN is 436212, about $30 American. Scrounge around and you may find a good used one.
