Great, you're almost ready to light it off! Don't forget you have to run water to the drive whenever the motor is running.

Sorry Don im a little confused lol . how the heck do i set the timing then if there is no base timing :confused: ? just want to make sure i get it right since this is not the stock 260 hp any longer . different compresion different cam all different . thanks again
No base timing for the TB4 ignition.

You just start the engine, hook up your timing light and move the distributor to the proper timing. There is no special base timing "MODE" of any kind on the TB4.

thanks Don thats exactley what i was wondering . i have worked on some automotive stuff where you set your base then plug a wire in and the electronics take it from there

One last question the boat has been apart for a year now and it appears my mind is not as sharp as it used to be . I Cant seem to remember on the coil what the light blue wire is for and the greyish tan wire . I looked in my service manual and from what i can tell the tan is the negative lead for the tach ?
the blue i dont have a clue there is no mention of a blue in my manual ?

lol i think the blue goes to oil sending unit ? and the black off of the distributer goes to ground ? wow i need a break lol

found an updated wiring diagram . all as i suspected . got her fired up last night set the timing at 8 deg as engine builder sugested . seems to idle ok then out of the blue it will idle up a few hundred rpm then down .
