I have a 1986 Bayliner Trophy with a 50 HP Force.

I used it fine last year and this year the Tilt and Trim are Toast.

I would like someone's help Identifying what I need for my boat mechanic to repair.

I would be interested in purchasing new parts and not re-building if possible.

I've seen Rritt has some great feedback on this problem, how do I contact him?

thanks

i don't do force systems anymore, just valve bodies and DIY ram kits. You can buy aftermarket trim motors for cheap and end up with a working, durable system.

i'd use the $80ish aftermarket 3w trim motor, rebuild the rams using industrial seals and 18-8 SS socket head bolts, and rebuild the oem valve body. If your existing wiring is for 2w then just snap off the center tab on the relays in order to use a 3w motor. I have your system specs. in my little black book of trim and probably have all the orings needed for rams. You could get new SS socket head bolts from hardware store. You'll have to search google/amazon/ebay for the motor. I used to sell them, but too many people don't read instructions and were trying to use them without putting in new relays. It's one of those cases where Force owners aren't worth the effort.

A friend of mine has an 88 Bayliner Capri with a Force 125. 2 Rams and a small ramilike item in between the mounts for the engine. I am guessing this is the trim. (I am not an outboard guy, but have pulled a few wrenches in my time and actually read instructions  )

The motor goes up and down, but doesn't stay up. Same with the trim. Pictures are included. What do I need to do to make the motor stay up? (No viagra jokes...)

Your help is muchly appreciated.

Randy
