tilt motor removal?

Leave the port side transom bracket bolted. Leave the port transom bracket to PTT unit bolts tight. Stick a block of wood between the transom and the tilting part of the motor, to give it some support.

The engine should not move at all, when you unbolt the starboard side transom bracket. You can always use a bungee cord to tie the motor to the port stern eye, although I have never needed to do that.

thanks . will try this tommorow. I actually really need to take all that tape off and see what the heck is up with that.... since someone mentioned it. lol when i first got it , i tried everything as i was told that it all worked except the rpm guage. the tilt worked the once . then nothing at all. i even checked the fuse. nothing wrong with it .... had to redo all wiring and lights, horn and other things. now the tilt. .... eesh. anyways will leta ya know my findings tommorow when i get to it... thanks Chris. and all others that chimed in.
