Hey RRitt: Have you ever heard of a tilt motor wired backwards? I was setting up a trim system today and when I put green to positive the trim raised. Blue to positive lowered it--Just the opposite of normal and expected.

System: Two wire motor with large black plastic reservoir and screw in valves. Original wires and nothing appears abnormal.

Of course, I will simply adjust the trim switch to account for it but I was curious.

Are the hydraulic hoses plumbed backwards?

Nope! Hydraulic lines are attached correctly. I thought it might have been the pump but it is OK too. It did it with two different pumps

every once in a while i run across a 2w motor where the magnets have flipped polarity and the motor runs backwards.
3w motors can have flipped brush wiring as jerry says.
2w motors are so simple to work on that it is hard to imagine flipped wires.
