Tilt/trim fluid?

Just wondering what the tilt/trim fluid should go in my 81 Glastron. It has an 87 Mercury force 125, to my knowledge.

Today I tried to take it out, but got rained out :'(

Anyways, I noticed the engine has been dropping slowly over time, like the fluid would be low on a hydraulic jack. So I'm assuming the fluid is low on my system.

Does it require a special fluid?

Thanks.

That particular Tilt/Trim normally uses straight 30 weight oil. If it's dropping down, it's usually the seals either in the Tilt or Trim hydraulic cylinders, or in the valve body itself.

Great. Thanks for that info.

I will have to look into it then... I have been noticing that I had to pull up on the outboard to get my transom saver off, but just assumed I didn't pull it up high enough until I noticed it dropping today.

Is it bad to run as is if it has slowly leaking seals?

Run it. won't hurt anything.

Read the top 3 posts here in the Force Forum cover a lot of repairs and test that can be done.
