I am trying to replace my tilt trim hydraulic hoses from pump to transom. I can feel were it goes but I cant seem to access were it screws in. I guess my question is do I have to remove my motor or is there a better way? I have a Volvo pinta 4.3 gl- sx I/O

Re: Tilt trim hoses

I have an '05 SX-M that I think is the same. If I understand your question correctly you need to remove the manifold that splits the two lines from the pump to the four that go to the cylinders. On mine I had to remove the drive and gimbal ring to get access to the little manifold the hoses tread into. The manual says to pop it out the back to get to the fittings. I had my drive apart for other reasons so it was not big deal but definitely one of those "why does it have to be this hard?" Once you take the one securing nut off it is just held in with an o-ring seal. I had to jerry rig a slide hammer to yank it out. Hope this helps.hydman2.jpghydman1.gif
