first of all I would like to thank everyone for the help you have given me.
my question for RRitt is,someone was saying that it could be the tilt motor that is making it bleed down,i am going to reseal it today or tomorrow if that doesn't work is it possible to find a rebuilt motor as the new ones a so expensive.
thanks again,tom

Re: tilt/trim oil question for RRitt

When trim motor is not spinning then system should not move. If it does, then the hydraulics are broken. It is usually the pump (aka valve body).
New Force trim motors are cheap. I get them for around $70. It would cost almost that much just to figure out what is broken, much less fix it.

I would like to know as well. I need one for my 1994 70hp. The best I can see is $200.00 + Thanks Tux. I will watch the tread.

Re: tilt/trim oil question for RRitt

it is the 1972-1987 3w trim motor. All you have to do is swap out the relays to turn a 2w system into a 3w. As such, the $70 1972-1987 3w motor also fits 1988-1992 just fine. 1994 70HP is the square base motor. They are $160-$230ish no matter what you do. If your 1994 runs in salty or brackish water then pay the extra money for arco or mercury brand.
