Tilt & trim problem

I had air on my piston and could not braing the motor down (the manual release screw was frozen) so I remove the bypass lines connecting the pistons from underneath ans removed all the hydrolic liquid, then brough the piston down manually and refilled the hydrolic fluid reservoir.
Now my motor binr the motor down quickly but is very slugish when it bring it up. Did I made a mistake filling the fluid into the reservoir or this is indication of a problem with the motor?
