tilt trim replacement 94 merc 200

My mechanic says I have to lift the motor off the Gil braket to replace the little square trim motor. 94 xxl 2.5 liter. It's making a grinding noise going down. Goes up nice. I see there like 200 dollars. Any where to get a rebuilt one for half that? Do I have to take off the engine to replace? Thanks in advance.

If you block the engine in the up position, you should be able to get to the tilt motor by removing engine mounting bracket of right side only.

thanks will do. Now, How can I fix the trim motor for less than the 200 for a new one or rebuilt one?
