Tilt/Trim shaft bushing?

I removed the trim sending unit from the motor...broken and I don't have a trim gauge. While doing so, I noticed that the shaft/pin where the sender is mounted looks loose in the hole/bore. Is there supposed to be a bushing in there of some sort? I have the Mercury shop manual, and am unable to find it anywhere in there, (no parts list or exploded view). The bore doesn't appear distorted or worn in any way which is leading me to believe there should be a bushing. Does material matter to make a bushing, bronze, aluminum, plastic?

Re: Tilt/Trim shaft bushing?

did some more digging through the service manual...found a bushing.
I measured the shaft and bore, and made a bronze bushing. I made the bushing tight in the hole and slight clearance on the shaft. (helps to have a lathe at my disposal)
