1989 Mariner 150 Mag2.
Worked good 2 weeks ago.

Now both solenoids just click.
Tried a little tapping on them with no luck.

Also tapped a little on the trim units.

No good. Still just getting the clicking.
Have I got a bad/low battery?

Will check voltage in a bit.
Have charger on it now and it looked like it might have been low, although not down.

Thanks

Re: Tilt &Trim ?

SBN - it is obvious that not enough current is reaching the solenoids. It could be a low battery (doubtful) or dirty connections or a bad switch or wiring. Try to jump the solenoids by putting a jumper from the 12V battery cable on the solenoid (which I am assuming is good) to the blue or green wire on the solenoid. If the unit operates, the motor and solenoid are good, and you need to check the trim switch and wiring for corrosion

Checked voltage at hot terminal and got voltage.
Checked voltage with switch engaged and had voltage on other terminal.

Tapped a little harder on tilt motor and it started working.

Now what.
Dirty connections or bad tilt motor?

Re: Tilt &Trim ?

red wire on the solinoids should be 12 volts.. If not battery or wire problems... on the green or blue side with th button pushed you'll probblly see 8 volts... If less solinoids are the probblem.. pretty rare for 2 parts to be bad...
