tilt/trim

I have a mid 1990's Yamaha 130hp. I was tilting the motor up and when it got about half way up it just stopped tilting. I can not get it to go up or down now. When I press the button I here a click but it just doesn't move. Could someone tell me what may be wrong? thanks

check the ground and 12V powerfeed to the relay assy's.<br /> the click indicates the contacts are moving, now we have to have a good ground path and a good 12V+ path to the relay terminals. do you have a multimeter ?

yes, I do have a multimeter, how should I check ground path and 12V+ path?<br />thanks
