It's been on CL for 29 days. One would think if it was such a great deal it would have been sold a long time ago. At that price, you would have to keep it long time to get your money out of it. Because when you go to sell it, the value would drop like a rock. Personally, I wouldn't pay anywhere near what they're asking, but that's just me...... Interesting story tho........

Who typically buys closed bow, 16' outboard boats these days? Not a popular boat style at all. But a healthy boat, with a well running engine is worth about $2,000k - $3,000k in my area. This one might be a little high, but it's in the ballpark.

Hard to tell, but in the last picture where the passenger seat is laid out there's a pretty big contrast between the cracks that'd be hidden from sun & the top vinyl. It could just be shadows, but it's also possible there's some heavy fading which one would expect from a boat that age. BUT... if that's fading to that degree, I'd expect a lot of other serious sun damage like chalky gel coat, dry/cracked plastic, hazy windshield, etc. So I don't know. I tend to agree with others that it looks a bit too good to have truly been just sitting for the past 40 yrs. Sure seems like a restored boat to me, but I can't put my finger on it. Fun to look at regardless, just not worth throwing $3k at.

I guess I wasn't the only one who saw and thought that too......
