timer base for 1986 140 looper

I have a 1986 140 hp evinrude looper, the part # for the timer base is I believe # 583379, my question is will a 1.6 seadrive # 583289 work on my 140hp. I thought I read a post here that the sea drives are loopers as well. Thanks in advance

1.6 Sea Drives are crossflows. Your 86 140 is a looper. Two completely different animals. The part number for a 1985 V4 looper stator is different than the 86-87. The difference is the position of the wires in the connector.
