timing my 1997 honda 90 h.p. 4-stroke

i recently blew the water jacket gasket on my 1997 honda 90 h.p. 4 stroke and had it fixed and now it wont start. From what i can tell it will fire but will not run. It gets gas and has good spark, so can it be the timing?? :confused: please help me brit_oxereok@yahoo.com

Could be your landyard switch, it turns off the motor when you fall out the boat! I missed this on my engine thining it was bad.

The only timing you have any control over on this engine ,is valve timing.You can verify ignition timing the same way you do with everything else,only no advance reference.Just fireing at or near the mark.Unless that starter pulley has been removed ,I doubt you have an ignition timing problem.
