I think that the cam shaft gears have some broken teeth.
Why do you think that? You could have found that out without pulling the engine. Usually, if one gear tooth breaks, it takes a lot of them out in a row and the cam doesn't turn at all. Also, the distributor wouldn't turn since it runs off the camshaft. If it somehow jumped timing without destroying the gear, you could have found that by watching the valves movement and timing mark while turning the engine by hand.

Why do you now think it has stripped the gear? You have eliminated most of the problems associated with a cam timing issue including a stripped cam gear with the compression test.
