Didn't realize these were flexible.

That flywheel should have the long magnetic strip.
Just clean it and glue I back in place??

I see what you mean about a magnetic strip. It's cracked, but could I carefully remove it and glue the whole thing back in place?

Yes, just use a thin glue.
Glues like Gorilla Glue swell and it'll hit the stator as I spins.
I use super glue.

FYI......Some of the 150HP motors use the battery for the ignition voltage so the flywheel doesn't have a stator magnet. It's pretty obvious when you look at the flywheel.

pnwboat you happen to have a pic of the flywheel with no magnets?
I thought they were needed to help generate power to run the motor?

I would suggest two part high strength epoxy for re-gluing the magnets along with plenty of clamping means.
Make sure the mating surfaces are clean.

The flywheel used on most Forces up until Mercury started using their products had a long magnetic strip
that went all the way around the inside of the wheel.
The Mercury stuff had 6 magnets glued around the inside of the wheel.
Their stuff was introduced as early as 92 but full production was in 95

Hello pastorbud I read the whole thread and was left with no conclusion, were you able to solve the issue? I'm having the exact same failure even if advancing the trigger manually no attached to the timing tower I can't get it right. Any advice would be very much appreciated.

Regards
