I brought a tiny tach, how do i make it work for a 4 cyl?

I connected it up as per the instructions, and it reads stupid numbers ie on tick over about 3290rpm, which i know is false.

Any ideas?

it says it can be used with one or two cyls. But i could not find on there website for 4 + so i dont know if i have the right one..

Any help would be grateful

Stuart

Re: Tiny Tach question

iv'e never used one but i understand their concept. it sounds like you're coupling to more then one plug. you might try adding or removing a turn of the "lead" to change the coupling. else try moving the "lead" to a different plug wire.

keep us in the loop on this one. i'm thinking about getting a Tinytach too. would like to know how things work out for you.

Good Luck

Re: Tiny Tach question

I did the same thing. Ordered the wrong one. Called tech support, mailed it back, they sent me a custom job/upgrade for my 4 cyl Merc at no charge.

Re: Tiny Tach question

Also make sure you get the one for 2 cycle motors and not the 4 cycle motor. Tiny tach manufacture is real good about exchanges and work with you to ensure the product meets your requirements.
