i'm in the process of painting my hull. everything is done except for where the rollers touch the boat. it's probably a 15 year old trailer that's had the boat sitting on it 98% of the time. I tried cranking up the front of the trailer and pushing the boat back; nothing. i tried putting some tow straps that have a ratchet and cranked on those to get them to move; nothing. i cursed at the boat; nothing.
what can i do to get it to move back? i only need it to move about 12". (4500lb v-hull)
can i use the momentum of towing the trailer forward to jerk the boat back?
can i use my car jack to push the boat back off the winch tower?
any reasonably safe suggestion is appreciated!
