im torn between trying to get a 1961 75 hp evinrude running or just buying a newer motor.heres a little history.i picked up a 1960 lonestar 16 ft aluminum v hull earlier this year that has this outboard motor on it.the motor hadnt been run in years and was seized up when i got it.it only took a day of soaking to get the motor unfrozen and turns over nicely now with 85 psi on all 4 cylinders.i cleaned the points up and got it sparking again.i havent done anything to the carbs yet.the prop was broken so that will need replaced and the lower unit had a thrust washer that was in multiple pieces that i replaced.when i reassembled lower unit it is very very hard to turn.so that will need some more attention.and i keep asking myself is this motor really worth the money and effort to try to get running again.or would it be better to just spend the money on a newer motor already running?any suggestions or comments would be appreciated.thanks.

It's probably not worth the money, but, it is worth the effort. You'll never get your money back from selling but you could have a good ol' motor there if you are willing to do the work on it.
