The "brassy" bolts are cad plated steel with a dip in chromate. I suspect the chromate is for painting purposes. I use all ss fasteners except rod bolts and I Loc-Tite them (rod bolts) along with some other bolts in critical areas.<br /><br />c/6<br /><br />Hooty

Everytime I pick up my torque wrench, I grab an oil can or light grease to lightly lubricate the threads and all contact areas of the bolt and washer first.
