To seal or not to seal? 1983 150 V-6

I've got my manifold with new reeds installed on very flat blocks (finally) and ready to bolt back on the motor. None of my 3 books say much about it so I am wondering if I should use any kind of sealer with the new gasket.

I dont use anything ...I have used same gasket twice..no problems ( curious, did you have to remove carbs to get reed box's out ?

A friend of mine that was helping had already taken the carbs off. They did not have to be removed. You can get to all 10 bolts with the carbs on.

good ,I never take off carbs
