Tohatsu 9.8hp 20 hours service....

Besides changing oil and fuel filter what should be done for service?
I am planning it to be service at a TOHATSU dealer but if it is just something
simple like oil change I can do it myself

Theory says to check the valve tolerances too. Theory is a waste of time 499 out of 500 times. No need to change the fuel filter at all. Just change the gear oil and engine oil. DO NOT USE SYNTHETIC OIL.

Thanks GURU I will just change the engine oil and gear oil. I can do that myself and save money =)

Tohatsu guru what brand would you suggest for the engine oil and gear oil?
Do I have to buy a pump so I can drained all the oil out?

Any brand will do and no pump needed.

Synthetic oils do their job too well when they reduce friction...It brings down the operating temp and that leads to fuel dilution of the oil which leads to wear on the engine.
