Tongue Jack Failing

Looks like older haul master jack.

Take the large snap ring off the old one and mount the replacement. Or pull the 4 screws off the mounting point and bolt the new one in its place

Or if you want to lube this one, pull the jack, disassemble it, lubricate it, and reassemble
Probably the direction I'm heading.

On another note, I was intrigued by your Cruisers 2420, and I stumbled on the threads from when you first got her. You were going to seek 350 hp out of the small block, with some minor mods. I got lost when you pulled the engine for the off-season mods. Next thing I knew, your sig is sporting a 468 (me think the 350 tweaks got carried away). Many of your links were dead or re-appropriated. If you have time, please steer me to links that show the 468 and some discussion of performance. I'm guessing the answer to your query about the DP power capacity was "> 350!" I've wondered what my 1998 GX is good for, but thus far I am so excited by the pure joy of finally having an MPI engine that absolutely rocks and never falters in a start. No plans to mess with it, as popping onto plane with 13 people on board, 45 mph @WOT and < 8 gph average between fills still makes me smile after 3 seasons of running the boat. I also got an EFI outboard for my skiff this summer - my first four stroke OB; game changer. After a lifetime of messing around with carbs, all I can say is good riddance!

I'd like to compliment you on the meticulous work you've accomplished to make the boat suit your needs. Nice job!

As wise men once said, "there is no replacement for displacement" and "there is no substitute for cubic inches." These guys may have overlooked forced induction, but they had a point.

I was about 330-340hp at the flywheel on the 350 when I pulled it to sell it. Went Big Block vs a stroked SBC

If I were going to do it again, I would be running a 416 cubic in LS, probably with a blower

Your MPI motor would need custom tuning for any performance gains or you could ditch the EFI.

EFI works..... until it doesn't

You may have missed Duton-Lainson in your search for a replacement. I've owned two trailers over 30 yrs with D-L jacks with no trouble.
Indeed, D-L did not come up on my radar. They appear to be quality products. I'll look into mating one to my mounting plate - hoping they have knowledgeable humans available by phone on Monday. TY for the tip.

Can you find a similar jack at a local place and remove the attachment stuff from it and drill, countersink the bolt pattern? If it was mine I’d try that. It may require some cutting and grinder work , then file/clean up the edges so it looks nice.

I have had success using gear oil in a hand pump oil can, the 80-90 wt stuff as it is designed for gears ! Squirt on liberally and work the jack, if things loosen up then add grease to the gears.
