After months of debating of what to buy, I decided to buy a 2005 Cobalt 220 for my first boat...picking it up in the next week or two.

Now that I have made the decision and plunked down the $$$, I am curious as to what people think are the essentials for their boats....here is what I already have:

Anchor, Anchor Line, Fenders, Fender Line, Lifejackets, Gear Lube, and a few other odd's and end....

Any suggestions?

TIA!:D

Re: Took the plunge....

ya might want to take a boater safety class with the power squadron or us coast guard aux. in your area. you'll find out what the basics are in these classes......

get yourself a copy of yer states boating laws too. that'll have the facts in it as to whats required onboard too......

congrats on your new boat.......sounds like a real sweety........

I would also recomend putting a small toolkit together incase of a problem on the lake. I have a few spanners, an adjustable spanner and some screw drivers plus a multimiter and some wire. I have never used/needed it, but it's comforting to know it's there if I need it..

Congrats on the new boat. Can we see pictures!?

Noise making device or noise making appliance can legally be the boats horn right?

can not stress the sunscreen hard enough plus i keep a few extra hats on the boat incase i might lose mine or some1 comes out with me and forgets to bring one. I also keep a case of botteld water onboard just incase, if you brake down even lukewarm water is good.
