Top End / High speed problems with 1985 85HP Chrysler Force outboard motor

I have a 1984-5 Chrysler Force 85HP outboard motor that is having problems with its top-end speed. It starts to bog down once you get about halfway with the throttle. It runs good at idle. My mechanic has replaced the Stator with a new one (Old one had shorted out.) and also replaced one of the coils. He says it only has spark on 2 of 3 of the cylinders at high end speeds and isn't sure what the problem is. He said when he swaps out the positions of the two coils, the cylinder that isn't firing changes. Does that mean the new coil is bad also or could it be something else? Does anyone know what this problem might be and how to fix it? Thanks in advance for your time & knowledge! JD

Instead of relying on the mechanic, buy yourself an inline spark tester from any auto stores. They costs less than $10 each. Read the instructions and verify which cylinder does not have spark and note it down. Now switch the coils around and if the no spark problem follows then the coil is bad.

On another thought, since the motor idles properly the problem may not even be electrical but could be fuel related.
