i have a 1997 pro master 19' CC it had alot of carpet on it that was worn out so i took it off and i want to paint the topside (deck) of the boat. i have sanded all areas with 60 grit sandpaper, and now comes my question.

does anyone know the best and most affordable paint that i can use for this project? Has anyone tried this before with anything else besides gel-coat and had good results?

any info would be greatly appreacited

You want to have truck bed liner in white sprayed on the top side of your boat? I think topside paint will look 100% better, and all those nooks and crannies in the line-x will trap dirt. Hate to see what it will look like in a year or two.

Give topside paint a second thought.

linx is a truck bed coating used to line the truck bed like a bedliner. it is very heavy for boats though. it is very durable but hard. reflex bedliner is more of a flexible type of material that might work better for the flexing that boats do. it is also very heavy compared to paint. all of these can be made to any color you want. our bodyshop does this.

Re: topside paint........

well the line-x dealer sprayed a coat of sealer on top of the line-x to help seal it and also give it a glossy coat, the guys that are doing it for me specialize in boats and guarantee it not stain, and also i can pressure wash the top if dirt gets in the voids.

all in all i think that it came out good and i wont have to worry about the "gelcoat or topside finish cracking" someone refered to line-x as hard but it is more flexable than any topcoat paint or gelcoat

well i thank everyone for their input

this forum rocks
