Yeah Chris, hard to tell without being there but the Tornado pics show the clearing skies to the left/west. By the time I actually put in it was just windy, I cut my cruise short because of sighting those clouds coming in. I know things change fast being from Kansas then Texas for the last 10 years! It was some strange weather. I really wanted to get the boat in at least once this season though. Not bad enough for it to be my last time ever... :) but glad I kept at it so to speak.

Gotta love the ol' tornado belt!

Speaking of funnels that raise and drop repetitively, Wichita had one come through this spring (I want to say late March or early April). Storm was traveling southwest to northeast, and there was an area of rotation producing one of these. It touched ground a few times outside of town and was projected to travel straight over downtown Wichita. NOAA has a station on the southwest side of town, and the rotation traveled straight over it into what is called the "cone of silence" because the radar cannot pick up echos that close. It was a pretty scary few minutes when no one had any idea what was going on. Meteorologists on the news had to run to their storm shelters so the only updates were scratchy audio, no video. Many people were afraid to look outside and see the damage. We got lucky as the funnel stayed airborne until it passed over town and then touched down again just northeast of Bel Aire. That thing could have done some serious damage as it went over downtown.

That lake looks beautiful in your picture by the way.
